The heart art glass pieces in the Heart Beat collection were inspired by exhibitions at the Royal Brompton & Harefield hospitals which specialise in heart transplants. The heart of glass artworks give comfort, peace and hope for families whose loved ones are receiving treatment. Heart art can bring a sense of wellbeing, for both patients and their families by activating a pleasure response in the brain.

 

Working with broken pieces of glass, I am building 'hearts' which emit love and life. Each piece of glass builds the heart in layers which are tactile, using the glass to produce a surface which is reflective of the love people have for each other.

 

In consultation with a Feng Shui consultant, I have also developed the pair of hearts, an auspicious symbol for those searching for their soulmate. The glass hearts are formed using certain colours and touch each other, creating a smooth and continuous connection. These are perfect for celebrating your relationship on your wedding day, anniversary or Valentine’s Day.
